Job Description

Salary: £27,000 p.a. – £38,000 p.a.+ overtime + progression
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield
Type: Permanent

Overview:
A precision engineering manufacturer in Sutton-in-Ashfield is seeking a Quality Inspector with a strong eye for detail and ambition to progress. This role offers genuine development into a Quality Engineer and, longer term, a departmental leadership position as the company continues to invest and expand.

Responsibilities:
• Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections on machined, fabricated and assembled components
• Use precision measuring equipment: verniers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM (training available)
• Inspect components to engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
• Complete NCRs, CAPA actions and support root-cause investigation
• Assist with FAIRs, ISIRs and customer quality documentation
• Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing and quality
• Work closely with machinists, welders and engineers to resolve quality issues
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure compliance with ISO 9001
• Contribute to improving processes, methods and quality standards across the site

Requirements:
• Experience as a Quality Inspector within machining, fabrication or precision engineering
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
• Confident using all manual inspection tools (CMM experience an advantage)
• Good problem-solving skills and structured approach to quality issues
• Strong communication and ability to work across all departments
• Ambition to progress into Quality Engineer / Team Leader level roles
