Production Supervisor
Job Description
Salary: £34,000–£42,000 + overtime + progression

Overview:
A leading engineering & fabrication manufacturer in Loughborough is seeking a Production Supervisor to support the Head of Production and take ownership of day-to-day workshop operations. This role offers clear progression into Assistant Head of Production and future departmental leadership as the company continues to invest and scale.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily production activities across fabrication, machining and assembly teams
• Support the Head of Production with planning, scheduling and workflow optimisation
• Allocate resources, manage workloads and ensure deadlines are hit
• Mentor and develop shopfloor staff, supporting skills growth and performance
• Monitor quality, output, efficiency and adherence to engineering specifications
• Assist with new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement projects
• Drive 5S, H&S compliance, risk assessments and safe operating procedures
• Resolve daily production issues, escalate where required, and improve root-cause processes
• Communicate clearly between engineering, purchasing, quality and workshop teams
• Contribute to departmental strategy, investment plans and team structure
Requirements:
• Experience as a Production Supervisor / Team Leader in engineering or manufacturing
• Background working with fabrication, machining, or assembly operations
• Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of lean, 5S, CI and basic production KPIs
• Confident decision-maker able to lead from the front
• Motivated to progress into Assistant Head of Production
