Job Description

Salary: £35,000–£48,000 + overtime + benefits
Location: Hinckley
Type: Permanent

Overview:
A leading engineering and manufacturing business in Hinckley is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their growing design and projects team. You’ll work on full electrical design packages for machinery, automation systems, control panels and industrial installations, with full ownership of schematics, layouts and technical documentation. Excellent progression, training and long-term stability.

Responsibilities:
• Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical / EPlan
• Create complete electrical design packs for machinery, automation and industrial systems
• Specify components including PLCs, drives, sensors, MCCs, safety circuits and controls hardware
• Work closely with mechanical designers to ensure system integration
• Support panel build, installation and commissioning teams with technical queries
• Assist with risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards
• Update drawings, BOMs, test documentation and technical files
• Participate in continuous improvement and contribute to design optimisation
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and clients to deliver accurate, on-time solutions

Requirements:
• Experience as an Electrical Designer / Electrical Design Engineer
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control circuits and industrial systems
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan or similar software
• Knowledge of PLCs, drives, sensors and industrial control hardware
• Understanding of BS EN standards and machinery safety requirements
• Ability to produce accurate drawings and technical documentation
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
