Salary: £18–£23 per hour + Overtime

Type: Full-time, Permanent, Days

Overview:
Exceptional opportunity for a specialist TIG pipe welder to join a high-performance engineering environment. You’ll be working exclusively on premium-grade super duplex and duplex stainless steel, producing critical welds for high-pressure, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant applications. This is a role for someone who takes pride in precision, quality, and advanced metallurgy.

Responsibilities:
• TIG welding super duplex / duplex / stainless pipework to exacting standards
• Producing orbital-quality manual welds on thin- and thick-wall pipe
• Interpreting isometric drawings, weld maps, WPS/PQR documentation
• Full pipe preparation: bevelling, fit-up, alignment, purging and backgassing
• Completing welds for pressure vessels, utility systems and industrial process lines
• Working within strict QA frameworks – visual inspection, measurements, acceptance criteria
• Maintaining a clean, controlled welding workflow for repeatable quality
• Supporting fabrication of complex pipe spools and assemblies

Requirements:
• Strong TIG experience specifically with super duplex / duplex alloys
• Excellent understanding of metallurgy, heat control and distortion management
• Background in high-integrity pipework (utilities, water treatment, industrial)
• Ability to read detailed technical drawings, isometrics and weld procedures
• Strong knowledge of purging, gas coverage, cleanliness, and weld preparation
• High personal standards for accuracy, appearance and weld integrity
• Reliable, disciplined and confident working on critical components
