Job Description

Salary: £18.00–£25.00 per hour + overtime (×1.5 & ×2)

Overview:
A precision engineering manufacturer is looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller to join their advanced machining cell. You’ll work on complex, high-tolerance components using Mazak and Fanuc-controlled machines, with full exposure to OpenMind HyperMill for high-end CAM programming. This is a top-tier role offering autonomy, cutting-edge tech and strong earning potential.

Responsibilities:
• Set, operate and edit 5-Axis CNC milling machines (Mazak i-Series / Fanuc-controlled systems)
• Produce high-precision components to aerospace, motorsport and advanced engineering standards
• Use HyperMill (OpenMind) for toolpath edits, optimisation and strategy input
• Carry out full machine setup: tooling, workholding, probing, offsets and datum alignment
• Manufacture one-offs, prototypes and small batch runs to tight tolerances
• Perform in-process inspection with micrometers, height gauges, CMM support etc.
• Work with aluminium, stainless, steels, inconel and exotic alloys
• Contribute to process improvements, tooling selection and feed/speed optimisation
• Maintain machine condition and ensure precision at all times

Requirements:
• Proven experience in 5-Axis CNC milling (essential)
• Strong knowledge of Mazak or Fanuc controls
• Experience using HyperMill (or other high-end CAM)
• Ability to read complex technical drawings and GD&T
• Skilled in producing tight-tolerance, high-value components
• Strong problem solving and ability to work independently
• Background in aerospace/motorsport/precision engineering advantageous
